Study on Resilience and Local Economic Development in EU Coastal Communities – Ongoing

Funded by the European Commission (CINEA) under the Framework Contract CINEA/2021/OP/0011 – Lot 2, the project aims to strengthen the resilience and economic development of coastal communities across the European Union. It focuses on providing a comprehensive socio-economic, demographic, and environmental characterisation of these communities, alongside operational recommendations to enhance support mechanisms at EU, national, and regional levels.

The project activities include the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, the implementation of targeted case studies, and the development of a strategic Action Plan to foster the resilience of coastal communities, particularly in response to climate change and environmental pressures.

The consortium consists of:

  • Bluefarm S.r.l.

Bluefarm S.r.l. plays a key technical role by:

  • Supporting Work Package 2 with expertise in modelling and spatial analysis, focusing on physical and environmental indicators of coastal communities.

  • Leading a case study within Work Package 3, applying innovative approaches for enhancing local resilience and promoting sustainable blue economy practices.

The project commenced in 2024 and is scheduled for completion by 2025.
